I can honestly add in that ball pythons will have to get no benefits from eating crickets. Instead, these things will jump on your snake and irritate it, causing it to move erratically.
Pythons and ball pythons eat a rodent-based diet so feeding them crickets is a waste of time. If you want to feed crickets, feed them to the live feed (rat or mice) then feed the rodent to your snake and supervise the feeding to ensure it goes well.
Snakes read heat signatures and cricket does not have enough heat that the snake can read. Not to mention that BP are constrictors so how are they going to wrap a cricket? Haha.
I would laugh so hard that I’d pee if I ever saw a pet store employee recommending this. I WOULD be shocked to see a ball python constrict a cricket and eat it unless it was appallingly starved, and even then, I think it would be a stretch.
